Help Friends of Retired Greyhounds win a $10,000 grant!

That's right $10,000

Vote for us at www.theanimalrescuesite.com and we could win $10,000 to help pets in need.

The Animal Rescue Site is hosting a special challenge for eligible Petfinder.com member shelter and rescue groups. The grand prize is a $10,000 grant, and they will be awarding many other grants to rescue groups with the most votes — a total of $100,000 in grants for animal welfare organizations.

Think how many animals we could help for $10,000!

Help us win! All you have to do is click to help rescued animals, and then vote in The Animal Rescue Site $100,000 Shelter+ Challenge. Both of these actions are absolutely free! You can vote once a day, every day, from January 18th through April 18th, 2010. Every time you vote, or tell a friend to vote, you are making a huge difference for us.

Vote today!

  CALLING VOLUNTEERS!
Volunteers make the world go round!. . .In the next few months, you'll notice that we will be going to an online newsletter (you will still be able to request a regular mailing if you prefer). We will be working on getting volunteers more involved in events. It's really up to all of us to get dogs adopted - it takes not just a few board members, but rather a little effort from a lot of people, to make it all happen. And there is no reason we can't all have fun while doing it! . . .

If you have time to bring your grey for two hours to Meet and Greet this month, do so! If you want to work behind the scenes helping with adoption, foster care, or planning events and fundraising, we want to hear from you now! FORG Volunteer Application

The PEDIGREE Foundation, founded in September 2007, was honored to help Good Dogs at 539 breed rescues and shelters across the U.S. in 2008. All were 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping dogs get adopted.
The funds donated by the PEDIGREE Foundation to qualified shelters were unrestricted but with one condition: the monies had to be used to directly benefit dog adoptions. Grant funds were used where they were needed most, oftentimes for medical care. Other times the grants were used for behavior training, facility improvements, or basic operations such as water, food, and power.
